Taste of Siam

Easy Thai Recipes and beyond

As a big fan of chicken wings, I have made different types of wings and ones of my favorite are Glazed vinegar chicken wings.  I love these wings for their soft, juicy, stickiness  and of course, their wonderful sourly, mild sweet with only a hint of spiciness glaze.

Both mid joint and drumettes are ok for this recipe. For me, I love mid joint and find them pretty sexy part of the chicken. So I use just one type. So choose whatever you like, but go for the skin on chicken, if you can. You end up rendering a lot of fat out when you bake it in the oven anyway, and it goes nice golden and irresistibly crispy.

Bangkok traffic is the worst traffic you will ever seeSick smile. When I was living in Thailand, I needed to wake up at 4 am. so that I could be off to the school by 5 am. and arrive school near 6 am. and then wait for 2 hours because classes didn't start until 8 am. And yet even so, sometimes I got stuck helplessly on the road for more than 2 hours, couldn't come to school in time; I was stranded, frustrated and very very hungry.

RIMG2471Succulent, creamy, aromatic, sweet and spicy Devil is how I would describe these Pork Satay. I made these tasty skewers of pork this morning and everybody in my family just loved them, although my little boy could hardly tolerate the heat of the peanut dipping sauce. We didn't leaving any bit of these delicious barbecued pork behind. So I planed to make them again some time next week.

Kai Yang (Grilled Chicken) is a common stable of street markets.  It is immensely popular that you find it in any tourist places. In Thailand, the dish is often paired with Som Tam and sticky rice.

When I was working at Soi Thonglor, there was a Kai Yang &  Som Tam stall that I and my colleagues would always go to.  ( While Thonglor is a famous meeting place, where most restaurants are designed to woo the 'high end' clients, what's more intriguing is its street food-- among the best in town.)
